Seite 1 von 2 The guitarist HUCKY Eichelmann originates from the Markgraeflerland, the musically vibrant south west of Germany. He feels at home all over the world but particularly in his adopted second home, the beautiful Kingdom of Thailand where his arrangements and recordings of the music of His Majesty King Bhumibol of Thailand, have single-handedly made the classical guitar a fashionable instrument.
He is primarily a creative musician who has written numerous compositions and arrangements of his own. The magazine Classical Guitar praises his style of composition and his "unique tonal language". Though holding a master degree in classical music, Hucky started very early to develop his own repertoire of great diversity bridging the Cultures of East and West as well as the Classical with the Folkloristic and the Serious with the Popular. The name Hucky Eichelmann requires little introduction for Asian audiences, his unique and dazzling guitar style has long been delighting his loyal and ever-increasing audience in the region. The international press has dubbed him as “Musical Ambassador between East and West” and a Bangkok Magazine labeled him the “Musical Ambassador for His Majesty the King of Thailand”. Hucky's dedication to the music of His Majesty the King of Thailand are well known all over the world. Hucky has, among many, collaborated with Ravi Shankar, George Winston, Nina Corti and Carlos Bonell, played alongside such guitar greats as John Williams, David Russell, Jorge Morel and Kazuhito Yamashita and has thrilled audiences during the world's most prestigious guitar festivals in Great Britain, Singapore and Australia. He was also privileged to be invited to perform at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City - a rare honour for an instrumentalist. Hucky's connections with the Thai Royal family are well known. An official tribute from the palace described him in glowing terms as an “indefatiguable champion of H.M. the Kings music” after he recorded and published CANDLELIGHT BLUES. Hucky recently completed his collaboration with Ravi Shankar, on the transcription of the maestro's Sitar concerto No.1.
